A small-town girl from Nova Scotia’s South Shore, former member of the award-winning Nova Scotia Mass Choir, and 2025 Josie Music Award Nominee, Amy L. Grant can’t remember a time when she didn’t have a strong desire to sing or try her hand at a small assortment of various musical instruments. “I think most people feel a need to be creative in some sort of way, and music is definitely a big creative outlet for me. It’s helped me keep my mental health in check through those less-than-wonderful moments that we all experience at some point in our lives”.
Her songwriting style has been described as down-to-earth and organic, with pleasurable melodies, and relatable lyrics brimming with emotion that easily connect the listener to the song by evoking feelings of having their own stories being told. Clear vocals with a pure tone and warm texture influenced by roots, folk, country, bluegrass and gospel genres complete the essence of her overall musical approach.
